Taxonomy term (Content), without additional contextual filters and relationships, the View does not seem to output or work properly when using default formats

Use case: 

TVI to use customized View display generated from the Taxonomy term (Content) template

Issues: 

Off the box from the template Taxonomy term (Content), without additional contextual filters and relationships, the View does not seem to output or work properly when using any of the following:

BX Slideshow
FlexSlider
Grid
Jump menu
Slideshow
Superhero Portfolio
Table

Contextual filters:
CONTEXTUAL FILTERS
Content: Has taxonomy term ID (with depth)
Content: Has taxonomy term ID depth modifier

Relationships: None

The only formats that seem to work seem to be:

HTML list
Unformatted

Workaround / Fixes:

Use either HTML list or Unformatted
For Format Settings: if Fields are preferred over Content, select "Force field" usage
Proceed with outputting fields as necessary

Add another field: Global Custom text
- Hide all other fields
- Rewrite as necessary
